Tournament experience is quite valuable for a superintendent to learn the details in providing championship conditions. Pat has participated in preparations for many professional events, including the 2009 US Open at Bethpage Black. Serving as Assistant Superintendent at Bethpage, Pat led staff in varying assignment throughout preparation and tournament week. That week, Long Island received an historic amount of rain and the staff was forced to work around the clock to get the course ready for play. In the end, it was a fabulous tournament and the staff was recognized for the incredible work performed to get the course into excellent shape. While at Glen Oaks, Pat was part of the team that brought about the changes necessary to bring the Northern Trust PGA event to the club, and hosted the 2017 tournament.
